HDR vs RAW

Here is a comparison between HDR and RAW photographs in a high dynamic range scene.

The second scene had the largest dynamic range and you can see how the sky was not able to be recovered. However when highlights are recovered there seams to be artifacting in the leaves of the trees.  HDRs can still out shoot RAW but RAW can come close. 

32 BIt HDR Workflow

I learned about a workflow for HDR where you save the automated HDR image from photoshop as a 32 bit .tif then import it into camera raw to edit it.

I hopefully will keep up with the 3ds Max tutorials that Brandon will be putting out on Freddiew2. This is to show blender as a free alternative to 3ds Max that supports all operating systems.

I sculpted this is in Sculptris a free version of z-brush. I exported it to blender then rendered it in cycles.
